Artist painter

Let yourself be seduced by his inspired creations with 1001 different coastal aspects which will transport you towards enchantement or escape.

Richard Fortin is self-taught.

He was born in 1954 in a small village of the Bas-Saint-Laurent. His first contact with the sea and its coastline was at Pointe-au-Père near Rimouski where he spent his childhood.

He allowed himself to be tamed by the fascinating countryside which surrounded him every day. The shore and its marshes quickly became places that drew him back often.

From the start of primary school, his teachers encouraged him to pursue visual arts and drawing. He was always lured by this manner of expressing himself and, at the age of nearly 20, he discovered photography, which  he practiced as an amateur, even participating in a few expositions.

When he was nearly 25, he discovered the medium of oil painting which gave him the means to express his emotions and sensitivities and to transmit these feelings onto his canvases. He hopes that people will take the time to stop and admire all the beauties that nature offers.

Today, it is in this reflective atmosphere that the artist presents his paintings to you.

Let yourself be seduced by his inspired creations with 1001 different coastal aspects and his country scenes which will transport you towards enchantement or escape.
