Roy enjoys drawing filiform characters and creating an imaginary world around them.

 

Born in 1956 in Thetford Mines, Canada.

Training: Self taught, Roy discovers painting as early as 14 years of age.  Her mother holds a shop selling artist’s materiel and exhibiting works from different artists.  This is where Roy exibits her first paintings.  She had the privilege to experimenting watercolour; pastel, acrylic and oil because it was available in her family’s shop.  After time, oil became her favorite media.

Career: Roy enjoys drawing filiform characters and creating an imaginary world around them.  From 1970 to 1982, Roy is interested in landscape painting and drawing.  Later on, using warm colors, she paints exclusively people in different environment.  Altought this artist devoted herself to her family for years, art was still a part of her everyday life.  She also gives time as a volunteer for event such as the Festival des Harmonies et Orchestres Symphoniques du Québec and the Salon des Arts des Bois-Francs de Victoriaville, all events related to the art world.

Collection: Her work can be found in many public and private collections.
