 The vibration of the colours brings each one of his paintings into an abstract and bright universe.

Hugo Landry is a young artist in his 30’s who lives in Québec City. While his studies in the visual arts gave him the opportunity to develop artistic thinking, it is his baccalaureate in design which permitted him to more freely compose using the power of colours.

Using only a spatula, acrylic paint and wood/canvas frames, colour and vitality are the central forces of this artist’s work. These enable him to create nuances and rich gradations. His style of painting takes its roots from his methods and the materials that he uses. The vibration of the colours brings each one of his paintings into an abstract and bright universe. The artist rarely knows what the final form of his creation will be. It is this unknown and spontaneity that give meaning to his paintings.
