Marchand Manon

I am known as a mountain painter because my landscapes are inspired by the places where I go hiking.

I am known as a mountain painter because my landscapes are inspired by the places where I go hiking. My more aerial point of view gives the effect of immensity and is different from my landscape peers. In my paintings, the atmosphere transforms reality into a sense of quest for fulfilment. My spontaneous trowel strokes create reliefs that judiciously imitate the mineral effect of the mountains. I like to play with acrylic impasto to shape its forms in a random way. It is only when my landscape is finished that I add the hiker according to the pictorial composition, the perspective and the intention of the message to share. My character animates the landscape, directing the viewer's eye towards the summit and suggesting the impression of something larger than oneself. It expresses either a feeling of contemplation, the impression of a quest or the state of perfect communion with nature.

Through my artistic journey, I continue my quest. The further I go along my path, the more my landscape evolves.
