Anicko

The driving force when creating a painting are colorful jigsaw-puzzle like personas which represent the complexity of human emotions and psyche.

Anick Bouchard was born in Saguenay, Québec in 1984. After spending 13 years in Montreal, her personal, professional and educational roads merge into one specific direction.

Surrounded by A diversity of artists, Anick discovered the many different facets of art which she then encorporated into her own art. She first earned her college degree in performance arts majoring in singingjazz and pop at the Lionel-Groulx de Sainte-Thérèse College. During this period, she co-founds an experimental music group.

While working on these multidisciplinary projects and spending several years in the arts scene, she discovers visual arts. Anick decides to return to  Interdec College in Montreal to complete a degree as a make-up artist for the theater and haute couture. During this time, she also takes private lessons in special effects. Anick then moves on to the fashion industry by working on photo shoots for several magazines and stores including Elle Québec, Elle Canada, Simons, Marie-Claire, Aldo, Lancôme, Reitmans AND OTHERS.

She freelances for several theater, dance and musical productions. The range of her work is extensive ranging from the Montreal Opera to music videos to TV productions. She has also worked for Radio Canada, Télé-Québec, V, ARTV, Astral Média, Évasion AND Canal Bravo. She returned to Saguenay several years ago and opened an art gallery in La Baie.

Her principal goal is to dynamize the regional cultural scene and to increase the general public’s access to the arts scene.

Anicko and her artistic endeavors are displayed in many different galleries in the province of Québec and in private collection around the world.
